Objective
This protocol establishes the guidelines and procedures for preventing, identifying, addressing, and resolving situations of discrimination and harassment within the framework of activities organized by the festival, ensuring an inclusive, safe, and respectful environment for all individuals.
Scope of Application
This protocol applies to all individuals involved in the festival, including:
• Artists and collaborators.
• Organizing staff and volunteers.
• Attendees.
• Suppliers and sponsors.
Definitions
Discrimination:
Any behavior that involves unfavorable treatment of a person or group based on gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.
Harassment:
Verbal, non-verbal, or physical behavior aimed at or resulting in the violation of a person’s dignity, creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, or humiliating environment.
Sexual Harassment:
Any unwanted sexual behavior that affects the dignity of a person, including comments, suggestions, physical contact, or any other inappropriate actions.
Preventive Measures
Dissemination:
- Inform all individuals about this protocol before and during the festival through official communication channels.
- Post visible information about the reporting channels at the festival venues.
Training:
- Provide training for organizing staff and volunteers on equality, diversity, and procedures for addressing harassment and discrimination cases.
Safe Environment:
- Design accessible and inclusive spaces to minimize risk situations.
- Monitor activities to ensure they take place in a respectful environment.
Procedure of Action
Receiving Complaints:
- Any person who experiences or witnesses a situation of discrimination or harassment can report it:
- In person: By going to the designated point of contact during the festival.
- By email: Writing to an official and confidential festival address.
- By phone: Through a dedicated line during the event.
- Complaints can be made anonymously.
Immediate Support:
- Immediate support will be provided to the affected person, ensuring privacy and confidentiality.
- If necessary, immediate action will be taken to stop the behavior, including removing the accused person from the space.
Investigation:
- An impartial and respectful investigation will be initiated that:
- Gathers statements from the involved parties.
- Analyzes available evidence.
- Has a maximum resolution time of 10 business days.
Resolution and Sanctions:
- If harassment or discrimination is confirmed, proportional measures will be taken, such as:
- Warnings or reprimands.
- Immediate expulsion of the responsible person from the festival.
- Notification to the competent authorities if applicable.
- The resolutions will be communicated to the involved parties with maximum transparency and confidentiality.
Support for the Affected Person:
- Provide psychological or legal assistance if requested.
- Maintain constant communication to ensure their well-being.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- An anonymous record of reported incidents will be kept to analyze patterns and strengthen preventive measures.
- The protocol will be reviewed annually to incorporate improvements based on the experience and feedback from the involved individuals.
